Dear Winship Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 academic year at Winship Middle School! I am honored to serve as your principal and look forward to a year of learning, growth, and achievement together. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, a warm welcome awaits each of you.
At Winship, we are committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our educators are dedicated to fostering a love for learning, promoting a sense of belonging, and supporting students in achieving academic success and reaching their full potential.
As we begin this school year, fostering a positive and respectful school culture is paramount. We expect all members of our community to treat each other with kindness, empathy, and respect, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported.
Please note our daily schedule: students attend from 8:40 a.m. to 3:19 p.m., with Monday schedules adjusted for teacher collaboration from 8:40 a.m. to 2:16 p.m.

Important upcoming dates include:
- August 15th: Meet and Greet (specific times below)
- Returning 7th-grade students: 9:00-10:30 am
- Returning 8th-grade students: 10:30 am-12:00 pm
- New incoming 6th, 7th, or 8th grade students: 1:00-2:30 pm
- August 19th: First day of school (early release at 2:16 pm)
- August 27th: School Picture Day
- August 27th: Back To School Night (6:00-7:30 pm)
- September 19th-20th: School Site Council Elections
I encourage you to get involved in our Winship School Community through volunteering with PTSA, School Site Council, ELAC, or attending school events. Follow Winship Middle School on Facebook for updates. Research consistently shows that parental involvement contributes to greater academic success for students.
